Hope City church is a vibrant, contemporary church for the North of England. Inspired by the rapid growth of the Australian Church, Dave and Jenny Gilpin moved from Brisbane to Sheffield to pioneer a fresh new style of church. ‘Aussie Church Starting’. That was the announcement of the arrival of ‘The Hope of Sheffield Christian Church’ in a newspaper ad way back in 1991.

A Bit About the Senior Pastors
Dave and Jenny Gilpin began Hope City Church in Sheffield in the spring of 1991. Dave was born in Birkenhead but lived most of his life in Australia. After seeing the amazing growth of church life in Australia, in particular with the Assemblies of God group of Churches. They felt compelled to move to England to share this new Aussie enthusiasm for Jesus Christ.

Our Affiliations
Hope City Church is a contemporary Pentecostal church. It is Christ-centred, relaxed, enthusiastic and traditional in its approach to the Bible. It is an evangelical Church but does not believe in imposing any beliefs on anyone at anytime! We believe that if it is that good, people will want to know more!
